Colletta Smith has worked for the BBC for the past 10 years, living and working in Belfast, Glasgow and Manchester. Colletta has reported for radio and TV at a national and UK level in the fields of business, economics and consumer affairs, covering everything from the euro-zone crisis, to illegal teeth whitening.
Biography:
Colletta broadcasts to a UK-wide audience on the stories that matter most – how big political and business decisions impact people’s daily life and budgets. More recently her focus is the cost of living crisis. She's often out and about covering issues from high streets, livestock markets, housing developments, and people’s kitchen tables. While explaining complex issues in an understandable way, Colletta has a unique way of putting people at ease, and is able to bring laugher into most reports in a way audiences resonate with.
Colletta has a uniquely broad perspective of the UK economy having spent many years in Scotland, Northern Ireland and England. She brings a bright tone and sharp intelligence to all the topics she covers as well as real warmth towards guests and listeners.
